I start with understanding
I identify what a student already knows, listen for misconceptions, and build from a strong starting point.
I have more than 40 years of experience teaching mathematics to students at the middle and high school levels. Throughout my career, I have worked to make challenging ideas understandable, approachable, and connected to what students already know.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a master’s degree in Mathematics Education. My goal is to help each student build confidence, deepen their understanding, and improve their mathematics learning outcomes.
I believe meaningful progress happens when concepts are explained clearly, questions are welcomed, and practice has a purpose. I want students to leave each lesson with stronger skills and greater belief in what they can accomplish.
I identify what a student already knows, listen for misconceptions, and build from a strong starting point.
I explain the “why,” connect ideas to examples, and break complex problems into manageable steps.
I use purposeful practice and useful feedback to help students become accurate, confident, and independent learners.
Tell me where you need support, and we can begin building understanding and confidence one clear step at a time.
